A New PS5 System Update Just Dropped And Here’s What’s New

PlayStation has just dropped PS5 update 25.02-11.00.00 and whilst it’s not as big as some of the huge feature updates we’ve had for PS5 it does have some new additions.

There’s changes to activities that revolve around keeping spoilers safe and out of plain sight, there’s new emojis and a lot of changes to parental controls in addition to the improved stability.

The update comes in at about 1.3gb, so hopefully it shouldn’t take too long to get downloaded before your nightly gaming commences.

NEW PS5 UPDATE FEATURES

  • We’ve made it simpler to view details about activities.
    • Activity details are now fully displayed on cards.
    • Potential spoilers will still be hidden.
  • Unicode 16.0 emojis are now supported. You can use them in your messages.
  • When you set the parental controls’ restriction level to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will now default to Restrict. If you have previously set the level to Late Teens or Older, your previous settings will not be affected and it will be shown as Customize.
  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.

This could be the last major PS5 update that drops before the PlayStation Beta Program kicks in that will provide early access to PS5 updates and other benefits to those that want an early look at features and games.
