Ahead of PlayStation President Jim Ryan’s retirement in March 2024, the company created an extremely special one of a kind PS5 console to commemorate.
The console looks to be an original fat PS5 with a special retro PS5 logo cutout (much like this one here), as well as a custom middle grey middle strip, but the absolute best parts of this custom PS5 are without doubt the box which mimics the original PS1 box as well as PS1-themed DualSense controller complete with a USB-C cord that has been turned into the iconic PS1 cord with the fat end.

People that attended the farewell were served cookies with Jim Ryan’s face on them as well as the iconic PlayStation symbols.
Jim Ryan will officially step down as PlayStation President in March 2024. In his statement, he said: “I will leave having been privileged to work on products that have touched millions of lives across the world; PlayStation will always be part of my life, and I feel more optimistic than ever about the future of SIE. I want to thank Yoshida-san for placing so much trust in me and being an incredibly sensitive and supportive leader.
