Apple very famously kicked the likes of the Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce Now apps off the App store claiming that it couldn’t guarantee the quality of content within those apps, but as part of wider app store changes, it has now changed that decision.
In a post on the Apple Dev website, Apple has said that “developers can now submit a single app with the capability to stream all of the games offered in their catalogue”.
This means that the likes of the Xbox Cloud Gaming app as well as NVIDIA GeForce now will be able to return to the app store as an app on iPhone/iPad rather than running in a web browser which should make for a much better experience.
At the time of writing, neither of these apps have appeared, and it’s unclear how long it’ll take for this to happen, but you’d think that Microsoft would be chomping at the bit to get it back on the app store.
