Belkin Nintendo Switch 2 Charging Case Review – A Clever All-In-One Solution

I’ve been a long-time fan of Belkin, and was super excited to see them launch their first proper gaming range alongside the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Whilst a lot of the range are re-branded from their existing (and still fantastic) charge and power bank range, something mostly built from the ground up is the new charging case, which as a concept, I absolutely love.

Much like all of Belkin’s products, the quality of the case itself is absolutely fantastic. It’s got a hard exterior which will absolutely keep your Switch 2 console safe, it has a wrist strap to hold the case and it’s obviously on the larger side, but that’s expected given it has a power bank built-in.

On the inside, it’s a luxurious soft material alongside a game card storage sleeve that can fit up to 12 game cards as well as a mesh area at the top of the case that can fit cables, Joy-Con rails and a cleaning cloth (don’t expect to fit much else into it). There’s also a hidden pocket for an AirTag as well, which is a nice touch for those that want to keep their Switch 2 safe. The case also is designed in a way that the Nintendo Switch 2 kickstand perfectly fits on top of the inside of the case, so that you can unfold it to play and then place it straight back in.

Inside the case and sitting below the Nintendo Switch 2 is a strapped in Belkin power bank. This can be removed, but the idea is that you charge your Switch 2 whilst it’s in the case. It has a built-in cord that perfectly reaches the Switch 2 and it’s packed with 10,000 mAh of capacity which is good for about two full Switch 2 charges (an extra 4-8 hours of play depending on what you’re playing). It’s capable of charging at a 20W pace, so it’s perfect for the Nintendo Switch 2 and your phone, but something to be aware of with hungrier devices.

The power bank to my knowledge does seem to be custom, and it also has a built-in display so you can see how much percentage is left, which is a must for me with power banks these days. I’ve used it to charge my Switch 2, my iPhone and even another handheld and it works perfectly with all of them, which isn’t surprising given Belkin’s expertise in this area.

Whilst the idea of having a power bank built into a case is a genius idea, and it’s executed fairly well, the position of it does leave some dead space on either side of the power bank, and the Switch 2 also sits kind of awkwardly on top of it and I can’t quite work out why that is, but it seems to be well protected whilst in the case, so that’s all that matters, but I wouldn’t be overfilling the mesh case.

All-in-all, if you want a really good quality case that includes a power bank that’s not only perfect for the Switch 2, but also fits perfectly into the case, I haven’t seen a better option than this.

The Belkin Nintendo Switch 2 Charging Case will set you back $99.95 and it’s available from the Belkin website as well as JB Hi-Fi and EB Games.
