I’ve tested more 3-in-1 charging docks that I’d care to admit, and it feels like it’s been a little while since we saw a genuine advancement in that space, but that’s all set to change with Qi 2.2 which allows for faster wireless charging and the first device to support it to hit my desk is the Belkin UltraCharge 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock.
For a little bit of context the Qi 2.2 standard that this (and many others hitting the market) incorporate is basically better than the Qi 2 standard (which opened up Apple’s MagSafe to all manufacturers), because it can charge at a faster 25w speed and is also better for heat/power management as well.
The iPhone 16 range was previously only able to use 25w magnetic wireless charging using the improved MagSafe cable, but with iOS 26 (in public beta now) it will accept 25w from any Qi 2.2 charger like this UltraCharge Pro. Similarly, the Google Pixel 10 Pro can also accept 25w from its new magnetic wireless charging (as detailed in my review here).
This basically means that when connecting your iPhone 16 using iOS 26, you’ll be able to charge at 25w which is just as fast as using a cord with a fast-charger, going from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes, and through my tests is does exactly that. That’s not where this technology stops though.
The UltraCharge Pro has a switch that allows you to turn on ChillBoost which is a little fan that lets you phone run roughly 7 degrees cooler whilst charging. This is important because if you’ve ever used wireless or MagSafe charging you’ll know that it gets incredibly hot very quickly which not only effects charging speeds, but your iPhone will often overheat whilst charing as well.
This charger with its little fan stops this from happening at all. I charged up to about 75% and the phone wasn’t even warm to touch, and this was all whilst it was next to my head on my bedside table making no noise at all (which was my initial concern). The fan can be switched off at the side and automatically detects when a phone is placed on it to turn on.
Belkin’s 3-in-1 charger is one of the smallest 3-in-1s that I’ve used height-wise coming in at roughly the size of a coke can. The MagSafe adaptor can be swiveled for StandBy mode but also lay flat for devices that don’t have MagSafe support. The charger also has a great weighted base as well, so when you pull your phone off, the entire stand doesn’t come with it, which is a genuine positive.
Just like with other 3-in-1 chargers (that are Apple certified), you’ll get fast-charging for the Apple Watch charger going from 0 to 80% with the Series 10 in 3 minutes and there’s a third charging pad on the base for your AirPods or other smaller wireless devices.
You also get a tiny 45w charger that might just be the smallest AU plug I’ve ever seen at 45w and a lovely braided cable that’s plenty long as well, which has been a genuine complaint with some of the other included cables.
The only small negatives I have is that the material used on the base seems to attract dust with its rubbery nature, and also I don’t love that the light for the charging base stays on when charging AirPods as this sits next to my head when sleeping.
All-in-all, I have nothing but positive things to say about the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 3-in-1, and I’m so glad that Apple opened up its MagSafe technology as we’re finally seeing the fruits of that with Qi 2.2 and I can’t wait to see what Belkin and other companies do with the technology.
