Cyberpunk 2077 Is Coming To Apple Macs This Week

CD Projekt Red and Apple has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is coming to the Apple Mac this week. It’ll be available on the Mac App Store, GOG, Steam and the Epic Games Store and those that own the game on the latter three platforms will get access to the game on macs too.

The Ultimate Edition includes the Phantom Liberty expansion and will run on any Mac with Apple Silicon and 16GB of memory. The game has been customised for Apple Silicon model so that it can run to its full potential. The entire experience will be the same as it is on all other platforms with cross-save, even including the latest 2.3 patch that introduces a new Photo Mode, additional cars and more.

At launch, the game will feature ‘For This Mac’ graphics presents, MetalFX upscaling, AMD FSR upscaling, Spatial Audio with head tracking for AirPods, calibrated hDR for Apple XDR displays, game controller support, Magic Mouse and Trackpad support.

Apple has already confirmed that the game will get better later this year, with the launch of MacOS Tahoe 26 which will include the below new features:

  • It will also take advantage of our upcoming Metal 4 features — Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising— which will be available in a future update to Cyberpunk 2077.
  • MetalFX Frame Interpolation generates an intermediate frame for every two input frames to achieve higher and more stable frame rates. The rich visuals in Cyberpunk take full advantage of the graphical power of Apple silicon. And MetalFX brings incredible performance to the game. MetalFX Upscaling pairs with the upcoming Frame Interpolation so the game can hit a solid 120 frames per second at the game’s Ultra settings. These extra frames make gameplay feel super smooth, and offers an incredible level of fidelity.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 on Mac will also feature MetalFX Denoising to enable real time path tracing on the game’s highest quality graphics settings.

This is a big moment for the Mac with Cyberpunk 2077 joining the likes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows (which launched day and date) earlier this year. I’ll have a closer look at it running on Mac soon.
