Google Pixel Watch Fall Detection

The Google Pixel Watch Now Has Fall Detection

Helpful safety feature.

Google has announced that the recently released Google Pixel Watch now has fall detection.

The new feature uses motion sensors that are built into the watch and on-device machine learning to determine if you’ve taken a hard fall and will immediately call emergency services if you don’t move or respond within a certain time frame.

At first, it will vibrate with an alarm sounding off with a notification to check on you. Taping okay will get rid of the alert, whilst hitting the ‘i fell and need help’ button will connect you to emergency services.

The feature can be turned on in the ‘Updates’ page on the Watch companion app or directly on the Pixel Watch in personal safety.

Google says that it has been tested against high-energy activities that could set off false alarms.
