Hyperkin has announced the Competition controller which is an officially licensed wired Xbox controller that looks a lot like a PlayStation controller.
It has a symmetrical stick layout but it also has hall effect sensors for its sticks and impact triggers to minimise the breakdown of these components that we see in other controllers (such as Xbox and PlayStation official controllers).
Hall effect sensors use magnets to detect movement, and rely less on moving components meaning that they don’t break down overtime.
The Verge reports that it will release in Q1 2024 for $49.99 USD (~$77 AUD) and will come in blue, white and black.
