I Went To Samsung’s TV/Monitor First Look Event And Here’s What Impressed Me Most

It’s no secret if you’ve been reading my articles and following my social content for the last half a decade or so that when it comes to TVs, even though I’ve tested every brand out there, I’d never stray from Samsung when it comes to day-to-day use.

So when I was invited to attend the First Look event for the 2025 range over at CES, I was super excited to see what was on offer and here’s what impressed me most.

WIRELESS ONE CONNECT BOX

I absolutely love the One Connect box. It’s one of the main reasons why I love Samsung TVs, and this technology is going to push it even further. This will allow you to have your One Connect box in a TV unit and then connect your TV to power in the more conventional way behind the TV rather than running any cords in the wall (or have it showing).

It’s said to provide super low latency with Wi-Fi 7 and Samsung’s low compression technology and I’m so glad that Samsung is continuing to innovate in this space.

It’s going to be in the flagship 8K QN990F Neo QLED as well as the brand new Samsung The Frame Pro which will also include Neo QLED technology.

ODYSSEY 3D MONITOR

If there was one thing I didn’t have on my list to be returning in 2025 it was glasses-free 3D technology, but I got to go hands-on with the 27-inch Odyssey 3D monitor and it was extremely impressive.

It uses a lenticular lense as well as a stereo camera to provide the 3D experience, tracking your eyes to make sure that you’re looking at it, and it works really well with a good amount of accuracy no matter the angle that you’re looking at it.

I got to play The First Berserker on it which is confirmed to be compatible with the monitor, and it looked really fantastic providing a great contrast between the foreground and background content. It’s also been confirmed that there’s 10 other titles including Lies of P that will be compatible in terms of content that has been developed for it, but Samsung has also said that it will have an AI model that can convert 2D content to 3D content as well.

SMALLER G8 OLED MONITOR

I’ve been using the 32-inch G8 OLED for about 5-6 months now and it’s one of the best monitors that I’ve owned. It looks fantastic, the display is incredible and I love the fact that it’s glare-free as I work in quite a bright space, but 32-inches is just a little bit bigger than I’d normally go for, so I’m super glad that Samsung is releasing a 27-inch version.

It has all the same features including the Samsung Gaming Hub built-in, but it now has a higher pixel density due to the smaller size which should make games look even better.

LARGER OLED TV

Similarly, those that know me know that I have the Samsung 77-inch S95C and the one thing stopping some people from going for a Samsung OLED is the size, but that shouldn’t be an issue anymore as the new flagship S95F now comes in 83-inches.

The glare-free coating (that I absolutely love) has been improved, it’s now brighter at up to 4,000 nits and it has a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, so this is absolutely one to watch.

NEW VERSATILE 2-IN-1 SOUNDBAR

Samsung also announced a new soundbar in the HW-QS700F. This is a more squarer soundbar than it’s flagship model and it cleverly uses gyro-sensor technology to allow it to be both wall-mounted (flat) or sit on your tabletop with the sensors automatically detecting which way it’s sitting to fire the speakers correctly.

PREMIERE 5 PROJECTOR

This was announced last year at CES, but it’s coming to market this year and I got to go hands-on. The Samsung Premiere 5 is a triple-laser ultra short throw projector and whilst it looks fantastic just as a regular projector, it has a unique feature that I’ve never seen before.

It comes with an accessory called the Touch Stand and this allows you to put it horizontal and use the short-throw nature of the projector to project a touch-screen display onto the surface in front of you. This means that you can play games, scroll social media or perform any other action with a touch-screen and it’s super accurate too.

There’s a lot to be excited about from Samsung this year and we’ll keep you posted once we have prices and release dates for all the products mentioned.
