Apple has just dropped iOS 17.2 which brings a lot of promised features to iPhone.
The main addition is a new Journal app which is designed to get you journaling about your life with the ability to add photos, videos, audio recording and locations. Machine learning will provide private personalised suggestions as well as reflection prompts to get you inspired to keep creating.
Privacy is obviously hugely important in any journaling process and Apple has locked it under passcode, Face ID or Touch ID.
The iOS 17.2 update also allows iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max users to record spatial videos that will be able to viewed in Apple Vision Pro when it launches next (confirmed for US so far).
These are captured at 1080p at 30 FPS in standard dynamic range and will be viewable in your cloud library on Vision Pro.
Other inclusions in iOS 17.2 include a new action button prompt for translation , some new weather widgets, Qi2 charging support for iPhone 13/14 as well as new features for messaging including quickly being able to jump to the first unread message.
Apple has also updated the Apple TV app on all of its devices which make it allow easier to get to Apple TV+, Apple’s library of original shows and films. The new sidebar also introduces Home which easily breaks down sections of the Apple TV library.
