Lenovo has just dropped the Australian prices for the Lenovo Legion GO which will be releasing at the end of the month.
The Lenovo Legion GO will cost $1,299 AUD for the Z1 Edition and $1,499 AUD for the Z1 Extreme Edition although you can get 10% off both of these prices using code ANWEL71023 . This puts it at a little bit more expensive than the ASUS ROG Ally, but the Legion GO has a larger screen with a higher refresh rate.
Both units are shipping within the next 5-6 weeks and are available to pre-order HERE.
The Lenovo Legion GO features an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor (same as the ROG Ally), but it has a massive 8.8-inch QHD+ 16:10 display display (500 nits in brightness) supporting resolutions of up to 1600p and 144hz. It has support for a 1TB SSD and a 1TB MicroSD slot as well.
It has a massive 49.2Wh capacity battery as well as Super Rapid Charge capability recharging up to 70% in just half an hour. Dual USB-C ports are included so that you can charge the device whilst connecting other accessories.
A very interesting differentiation between the Lenovo Legion GO and other Windows handhelds is the fact that it has detachable Joysticks just like the Nintendo Switch. They use hall effect joy-sticks, and have really interesting inputs such as a trackpad, an angled mouse wheel and a total of 10 mappable shoulder buttons, triggers and grip buttons.
There’s also a button to enable FPS mode which will allow you to put the joystick in a kickstand of sorts, and allow for precise movements that mimic that of a mouse for use in first person shooters.
I know more than most how important it is to have a custom OS when using Windows on one of these handhelds, and Lenovo clearly knows hta too as Lenovo Space is a frontend loader that will allow you to access all of your games, as well as quick settings.
