DLSS 3.5

NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Has Been Revealed And Focuses On AI Ray Tracing For Even Better Frame Rates

More frames!

NVIDIA has announced DLSS 3.5 which will take the AI technology already used in RTX GPUs to another level to enhances the frame rates that you can get out of your NVIDIA RTX GPU.

The big focus of DLSS 3.5 is AI-powered Ray Reconstruction technology which will essentially improve ray-traced lighting and reflections to lessen the load on the GPU from a core performance perspective and provide better framerates due to leveraging the AI network built into RTX cards.

WHICH GPUS IS DLSS 3.5 COMPATIBLE WITH?

Unlike Frame Generation which is exclusive to RTX 40 Series GPUs, Ray Reconstruction technology is available to all RTX cards.

In an example provided by NVIDIA, Cyberpunk 2077 was shown running at 1080 FPS with DLSS 3.5, 100 FPS with DLSS 3, 63 FPS with DLSS 2 and 20 FPS with DLSS Off.

DLSS 3.5

DLSS 3.5 has been confirmed for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Portal with RTX and Alan Wake 2 with more games to come later.

Here’s what some key people had to say about DLSS 3.5:

“Fully ray traced lighting in real-time was a significant milestone on our journey to photorealistic graphics in games, and we met those goals with Cyberpunk 2077’s RT Overdrive Mode, Minecraft with RTX, and Portal with RTX. With the addition of Ray Reconstruction in NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, developers are aided by AI to enhance the worlds they create by increasing image quality further than previously thought possible.” – Matt Wuebbling, VP of Marketing, NVIDIA

“Thanks to DLSS 3.5’s smart technology, fuelled by AI rendering power, you can experience Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s newest location Dogtown at its very best — with sharper images, more accurate lighting, and the highest frame rates possible.” – Jakub Knapik, VP of Art, Global Art Director, CD PROJEKT RED

“The new Ray Reconstruction feature in DLSS 3.5 renders our fully ray-traced world more beautifully than ever before, bringing you deeper into the story of Alan Wake 2” – Tatu Aalto, Lead Graphics Programmer Remedy Entertainment
