The Philips Hue Sync TV App Is Getting A Monthly Subscription Option and A Music Mode

The Philips Hue Sync TV app launched on Samsung TVs last year allowing Philips Hue smart light owners to sync their TV without spending $500+ on a Hue Sync box, but the TV app was still priced at a $200 AUD one off fee to use it.

Philips has today announced that it will bring a monthly subscription option in at $2.99 USD (roughly ~$5 AUD) for use on up to three TVs, so you could technically split this with two other people.

The company also announced that on compatible 2024 Samsung TVs, there’s a new Music Mode that allows the lights to react to the audio playing on the TV instead of just the visual content. It’ll also come to 2022/2023 TVs later this year.

At the time of writing, this update hasn’t rolled out to Australian Samsung TVs, but hopefully it’s not long before it does.
