PlayStation VR2 PC support

PlayStation VR2 Is Getting PC Support

YES!

It’s been long hoped for and on the anniversary of the PlayStation VR2 launch, Sony has today announced that the PlayStation VR2 is in testing for PC support with a release hopefully coming later this year.

This has been long hoped for given how fantastic the PlayStation VR2 hardware is, in particular, its foveated rendering and eye tracking. This is also the case as the likes of Meta has moved more into the standalone virtual reality space, leaving the gap for the high-end wired market wide open.

Sony made the announcement on the PlayStation Blog where it said: “We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”

We’ll keep you posted as there is more developments on this, but hopefully it won’t be too long before we find out exactly what this means.

In our PlayStation VR2 review, we said: “PlayStation VR2 is a massive leap ahead of the original in every way and up there with the best virtual reality experiences to date. The headset and controller come together to compliment the PS5 feature-set which will hopefully result in some fantastic AAA virtual reality games that match the quality of PlayStation’s exceptional first party offering.”
