Samsung Australia has today announced that its Digital Key feature has now launched in Australia.
This allows users with a Galaxy smartphone to use Samsung Wallet to turn your phone into a smart key to get into your car.
At the time of release, certain BMW vehicles will be able to take advantage of the functionality which will allow users to unlock their car doors, start their engines and also share digital keys with other drivers.
This is done via NFC to unlock the car door, and then placing the phone in the wireless charging pad gives the signal to start the engine. This is technically that has been talked about for years, with Apple also showing off similar functionality on the CarPlay side recently.
