Sonos Era 300 100

The Sonos Era 100/300 Speakers Have Leaked And Offer Solid Improvements

These look great

Sonos looks set to introduce two new speakers in the coming months which are set to take things to the next level. A report by The Verge which reveals a load of information about the speakers and also shows off imagery have painted almost the full story.

SONOS ERA 300 SPEAKER

The Sonos Era 300 will be the new flagship speaker. It’s set to be roughly $450 USD (~$650 AUD) and will be focused on spatial audio. The speakers will have Bluetooth compatibility and USB-C line in (with a 3.5mm converter to be sold separately).

When pairing two of these bad boys with a Sonoc Arc or Beam Gen 2, you’ll get Dolby Atmos surround sound with upward firing audio which is a first for Sonos speakers being used as rears.

SONOS ERA 100 SPEAKER

The Sonos Era 100 is almost set to replace the Sonos One. It’s set to be priced at roughly $250 USD (~$360 AUD) and will also include Bluetooth support as well as USB-C support with the ability to plug a vinyl player straight into them.

Sonos Era 100

The Era 100 won’t have an up-firing speaker, but it does have a second tweeter and an enlarged mid-woofer which means that they should sound even better than the fantastic Sonos One.

Both speakers have a new speech bubble button which lets you temporarily mute the microphones, but there is also a switch on the back to turn them off completely.

As someone heavily in the Sonos ecosystem, both of these products look to fill a game that has been left open by Sonos in the past, particularly with the ability to physically plug in external devices like vinyl players.

We’ll let you know as soon as these have been announced with exact launch details including Australian release dates and prices. Hopefully not too long to wait before we officially see these out in the wild.
