The DJI Romo 2 Robot Vacuum Has Some Huge Improvements And There’s A Huge Launch Discount Too

DJI has announced a follow-up to its DJI Romo robot vacuum (which is still my favourite robot vacuum). It’s called the DJI Romo 2 and it’s a pretty solid improvement over the last one. There’s a launch discount from September 9th until 30th where you can get it from $2,399 AUD down from $2,899 AUD which is a $500 saving.

It has smarter AI cleaning with the ability to distinguish between things like dry debris and liquid spills, automatically changing how it cleans and boosting suction on carpet and it also has improved obstacle detection detecting cables as thin as 2mm.

It has a new 123 degree robotic arm that has a 7.8cm wider reach and can also mop 4.5cm further underneath furniture in comparison to the original Romo vacuum. It also has improved 36,000 Pa of suction which should make for much better sucking.

It can now cross 5cm single step obstacles an 8.5cm double steps using its robotic legs and the self cleaning station now looks after itself for up to 365 days cleaning the entire system, mop pads and vacuum components without any intervention.

It’s also been made quieter and it now has an 85% reduction in noise energy and faster charging with it charging back to 100% in 2.5 hours. There’s also an interesting local data mode in which you can totally disconnect the DJI Home app from the internet and the camera and microphone can be totally disabled.
