So good!

I’ve spent the last few weeks with the Gigabyte Aero X16 laptop, and it’s been a few years since I’ve gone hands-on with a Gigabyte laptop, so I was incredibly keen to see how it performed.

This was the Lunar White model and normally I’m a black laptop person, but I absolutely loved the two-tone design of this laptop. It still looks sleek and minimal, but it has a bit of personality beyond the all-black design.

It has a super slim 16mm chassis and weighs just 1.9kg so whilst this is a laptop that is incredible cable for high-end gaming and video editing, it’s also light enough that you can take it with you to work, or on holidays without it weighing down your bag.

As far as ports go it uas a USB-4 Type-C port which can be used to charge the device and provide video, 3 USB-A ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, a HDMI 2.1 port, an ethernet port and a port for power as well.

The display is super glorious with a 92% screen to bezel ratio. It has a 16-inch 16:10 display with a 1600p resolution and a 165hz refresh rate. For those that need it, it has a 100% sRGB colour gamut and the display is also Pantone Validated, which is great for those (like myself) who do a lot of design work, but the refresh rate is also great for high-end gaming as well as games that require fast refresh rates like Valorant.

And speaking of gaming, this is an incredible powerful laptop with an AMD Ryzen A9 HX 370 processor with 12 CPU cores and 24 threads and an RTX 5070 GPU which is capable of DLSS 4 meaning that you can take advantage of Multi Frame Generation which is perfect for gaming on a laptop that is super portable.

Everything that I threw at this from God of War: Ragnarok to the recent Battlefield 6 open beta ran with absolute ease and were an absolute joy to play on this laptop. Like I mentioned earlier, there’s some extremely capable gaming laptops on the market, but most of them are bricks, where the X16 is still super slim and light.

The laptop also has a 76wh battery as well, the lasts most of the day, which is a great feat given the thickness of this laptop. That’s also thanks to the efficiency of both the CPU and GPU in the laptop too.

I also really enjoyed using GiMate which lets you change everything from power controls to RGB and a bunch of other features which is great for those that aren’t well versed with going deep into Windows settings.

All-in-all, whether you’re a gamer, a creator, or just someone wanting a laptop that is great at everything without breaking the bank or being too heavy, the GigabyteAero X16 is a great option. You can find out more about the laptop HERE.
