Along with the new Mint Google Pixel 8 Pro, Google has also announced a bunch of new features for the Google Pixel 8/8 Pro and older Google Pixel devices.
The new Circle to Search that was announced for the Samsung Galaxy S24 line will come to the Google 8 and 8 Pro on January 31st. This allows you to circle anything on your screen with Google serving up for more information.
This new update lets you test your body temperature with the included thermometer on the Google Pixel 8 Pro. It appears that this has been approved by the FDA, so it’ll be interesting to see if this one comes to Australia (obviously nothing is stopping you from doing it regardless).
All Google Pixels from the Pixel 6 onwards will get a Magic Compose feature to rewrite a drafted message in different styles with the help of AI. This happens onboard with the 8 Pro but all other devices will utilise the cloud.
Nearby Share has also been rebranded to Quick Share and quick audio switching is also coming to the Pixel Watch so that you can go from using your Pixel Buds Pro on your Pixel Watch to your Pixel phones or Pixel tablet and get notifications about where it’s switching too.
Last but not least, Photomojis are coming to the messages app, and all of these updates will start rolling out in the next week or so. You can read more about the updates over on the Google Australia blog.
