Google shocked the tech world this morning by giving the first look at the Google Pixel 9 Pro and revealing that its Made by Google event would be happening much, much earlier this year.
The event typically takes place in October, but it’s taking place on August 14th this year, which is almost two months earlier than normal. It definitely feels as though Google is trying to get ahead of the iPhone reveal this year, with it typically taking place after the iPhone event.
It’s expected that we’re going to see the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro (in two sizes) as well as the Pixel Watch 3. The teaser that was shown by Google matches leaks that show a new camera bar that looks a lot sleeker than ones of the past. In the teaser, we also get a big tease of Gemini AI as well as the phrase ‘get ready for magic’.
The Google Pixel 9 event will take place on August 14th at 3:00am AEST here in Australia. We’ll have all of the announcements as soon as they happen.
