Apple has announced the newest member of the iPhone 16 line-up. It’s called the iPhone 16e and it’s a massive improvement from the last iPhone SE.
It has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, but retains the notch instead of the dynamic island. Obviously USB-C has been added meaning that every iPhone now uses USB-C and it has the action button but no camera control.
The battery life is the biggest in any 6.1-inch iPhone lasting 12 hours longer than the last iPhone SE and 4 hours more than the iPhone 16 whilst running video playback. This is thanks to the new Apple C1 modem which is Apple’s first in-house designed modem which it says helps battery life significantly.
The iPhone 16e uses the A18 chip which is the same as the iPhone 16 and allows for Apple Intelligence features such as clean up, summaries, genmojis and more as well as high-performance gaming across the board.
When it comes to cameras, it has a single back camera which is a 48MP fusion camera that has a 2x telephoto zoom and it can also shoot 4K video in Dolby Vision as well.
The iPhone 16e will come in matte black and white. It will release on February 28th and pre-orders will begin on February 22nd at 12:00am AEDT. It will be priced at the below prices:
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the iPhone 16e and hopefully bring you a review in the coming weeks.
