Xbox has announced a brand new controller and this might be one of its nicest ones yet. It’s the Sky Cipher Special Edition controller and it has a transparent blue design with metallic and silver interior features that shine through the controller.
To go with the translucent design there’s blue metallic triggers and a matching d-pad, there’s two tone analogue sticks and sky blue grips on the back as well.
The controller is up for pre-order now for $99.95 and will release on August 13th. You can pre-order it HERE.
In what is probably more important news, Xbox also announced that this would be the first controller to introduce new packaging for the Xbox controller. Single use plastics have been removed and the paper manual is now digital.
The packaging is now 22% smaller and 21% lighter reducing its environment footprint, so it’ll be interesting to see what this looks like on shelves for collectors next to other boxes.
