Lenovo has made some huge announcements at CES including three new Lenovo Legion GO handhelds with two new handhelds that use Windows and one that is the first device to use SteamOS.
Lenovo Legion GO S
Lenovo is releasing two Lenovo Legion Go S handhelds, which both use the Z2 Go chip and now come with controls that can’t be removed like the original Legion Go and a smaller 8-inch 120hz display.
The Lenovo Legion Go S in white runs Windows 11 on the Ryzen Z2 Go or Z1 Extreme chips with up to 32GB of 7500 DDR5 ram and a 55.5wh battery life.
The Lenovo Legion Go S with Windows will cost $599 USD (~$958 AUD) for the 16GB/512GB version and $729 USD (~$1,133 AUD) for the 32GB/1TB version and will release in May (in the US at least).
In an even more interesting announcement, the black version is the first to be powered by SteamOS. This means that out of the box it runs and boots into the exact same UI that the Steam Deck does allowing for full access of your Steam Deck library and native cloud saving.
Just like the Steam Deck, this is running Linux and Valve says that SteamOS will be coming as an option to other handhelds in the near future as well.
The Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS will cost $499 USD (~$798 AUD) and will release in May (in the US at least).
Lenovo Legion GO 2
Lenovo has shown off the first prototype for the Lenovo Legion Go 2. This includes the same formfactor as the original with an 8.8-inch display that is now a 144hz OLED display with VRR support.
It utilises the brand new Z2 Extreme processor with RDNA 3.5 graphics and other changes include a circular D-Pad, up to 2TB of SSD storage and a massive 74WHR battery.
No pricing and release dates have been revealed for any of the handhelds yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we know more.
