I’ve tried several 3-in-1 wireless chargers over the years, but they either take way too much room on my bedside table, are unreliable with their weirdly placed coils, or just really start to show their shortcomings when you try to charge three devices at once.
Enter, the Twelve South HiRise 3 Wireless Charging Stand which is far and away the best charging stand that I’ve ever used. Talking about the design first, just from a size point of view, the footprint that it takes up on my beside table is much smaller than any other 3-in-1 charger that I’ve used. This is due to the verticality of the design which stacks upwards rather than in a spread across a wider distance like we traditionally see with 3-in-1 chargers. It comes in both white and black and honestly, will fit the aesthetics of any minimal vibe.
The HiRise 3 is designed in a way that it can not only charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, but it does so in a way that allows you to charge each device in a number of ways.
For instance, you can put your MagSafe compatible iPhone on the main charging platform which is MagSafe compatible, which I absolutely love as it means that there’s no guesswork involved with placement, which is an issue I had with almost every other wireless charger I used. This allows you to keep your iPhone front and centre at all times, and with the new always-on (ha) display of the iPhone 14 Pro, this is great to have.
You can also put your iPhone (or another iPhone) on the secondary wireless charging platform, which I used to charge my AirPod Pros, but often my husband would also place his iPhone on this platform whilst I was charging my iPhone on the MagSafe charger.
What’s great is that because the AirPods 2 are now MagSafe charging compatible, if you quickly want to throw them on the charger, you can do so on the same MagSafe charging platform, which again takes the guess work out of it.
There’s also a spot for your Apple Watch on the top/back of the charger, which keeps it out of the way, and again, really means that you can just snap it to the charger without having to guess where to place is.
It’s worth mentioning that no USB-C power adaptor is included in the box, so you will need to use your own or purchase one separately (like this one right here). Another small issue that I did have is that the stand did move a little bit more than I’d like so when trying to take my iPhone off the MagSafe portion of the stand, it’d the charging station would move around more than I’d like.
These smaller issues aside, I can’t see myself swapping the HiRise 3 Wireless Charging Stand for a long while yet, as it’s just the most feature-complete, easy to use charging station I’ve used to date.
