Apple has today released iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and WatchOS 10 today, so it’s time to get updating for some brand new features.
You can update by going to settings on your relevant device then to general and then to the software update section.
iOS 17
iOS 17 is compatible with the iPhone XR/iPhone XS and all that released after it. The big changes are below:
- StandBy mode which shows all of your data in landscape orientation when on a wireless charger.
- New autocorrect that will make less errors and get better with time
- Live voicemail for real-time transcriptions when you don’t answer a call
- Check in feature for family and friends
- Contact posters that can be shared between people that you meet
- AirDrop continuing over Wi-Fi when you leave range
WatchOS 10
WatchOS 10 is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 and those released after. It’s a pretty big new update with the below major features:
- A new smart stack widget view that shows you relevant information at a glance
- New watch faces including Snoopy and a bunch of other fun watch faces
- All new redesigned apps for almost every stock app including Messages and Weather
- The side button now activates Control Center
iPadOS 17
Not as big as we’ve seen in previous years for iPad, but you’ll still get the below features:
- A refreshed lock screen
- Updates to Stage Manager
- Interactive and more flexible widgets
- Leave a FaceTime message
- Inline PDF and PDF AutoFIll
Updates to HomePod and Apple TV
Updates to both the HomePod and Apple TV are also out today including a redesigned control centre for Apple TV as well as the ability to FaceTime on your TV.
