In addition to the new M3 MacBook Pros, Apple also announced that the 24-inch iMac has been updated with the all-new M3 chip.
Apple says that it’s 2x faster than the M1 iMac and 4.5x faster than the previous 21.5-inch Intel model iMac. As far as gaming and serious productivity goes, this is a much more capable device than the original 24-inch iMac with the M1 chip. It now offers hardware- accelerated ray-tracing for more accurate representations of lighting and shadows.
Outside of this, there aren’t any other changes, with it still retaining the same seven colours, 4.5K retina display, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, studio quality mics and six-speaker sound system.
The M3 iMac is available to pre-order now and will release in Australia on November 7th. It’s available in Blue, Green, Red, Pink, Silver, Yellow, Orange and Blue. It starts at $2,199 AUD for the M3 chip with 256GB storage and 8GB of memory with the high-end model costing $2,799 AUD for 512GB storage and 8GB of Ram (and an upgraded 10-core GPU).
