Meta has announced that the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro are both getting a price drop in Australia.
The Meta Quest 2 256GB version has dropped in price from today and will now cost $719.99 AUD down from $789.99. The 128GB will retain its $629.99 price tag. Both units now include two games (Golf+ and Space Pirate Trainer DX).
Just weeks after launch, the Meta Quest Pro is receiving a significant price drop as well. As of March 15th, the price of the Meta Quest Pro will drop by $500 USD, so we can expect it to drop to about $1,700 AUD from $2,449 (going off a discount of $500 USD) although Meta hasn’t confirmed the exact new price for Australia yet.
The Meta Quest 2 price drop is no doubt bringing it down to clear some stock before the Meta Quest 3 that is rumoured to be releasing next year, whilst the Meta Quest Pro’s significant price drop is likely in response to Apple’s upcoming VR/AR headset and underwhelming sales.
