The PlayStation VR2 PC app has been detailed ahead of its release on August 7th on Steam. This will allow you to connect your PlayStation VR2 headset and controllers to Steam to allow you to use your PlayStation VR2 for playing PCVR games using Steam.
Obviously, when you’re connecting to your PC you won’t have access to the custom PS5 UI that allowed you to take control of the unit, so the Steam app will allow you to do the below things:
- Play VR games and apps on Steam using your PlayStation VR2 headset and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
- Set up your PlayStation VR2 on your PC.
- Update the firmware for your PlayStation VR2 headset and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
- Adjust settings for your PlayStation VR2 from the SteamVR dashboard, including setting your play area and screen brightness.
The PlayStation VR2 PC adaptor is also set to launch on August 7th for $95.95 AUD. As far as features that won’t work with PC – HDR, headset and haptic feedback, eye tracking and adaptive triggers all won’t be available at launch.
