Amazon hosted its inaugural device event last night, unveiling a heap of new products for the home.
AMAZON ECHO HUB
Starting with the devices that we’re getting in Australia, the biggest is without doubt the new Echo Hub. This is a device with an 8-inch screen that can go on the wall (with an in-wall power cable) or on a dock to control all of your smart devices with a smart dashboard and widgets that are built to easily control more than 10,000 connected devices.
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the first device to come with the new Fire TV Ambient experience which will act similar to the Samsung The Frame TV in keeping an always-on smart display when you’re not wanting TVs. It’ll also have Wi-Fi 6E for faster streaming.
This new version of the Fire TV Stick 4K will have an updated 1.7GHz quad-core processor which makes it 30% more powerful than the previous generation and should allow for a faster browsing experience.
The company also announced a new Fire TV Soundbar, new Echo Frames as well as a new Eero Max 7 router which has Wi-Fi 7 support, but at this stage none of these devices will be coming to Australia. We’ll keep you posted if these make their way over.
