Elgato’s Cheaper New Facecam Has HDR And Heap Of Other Improvements

Much better!

Elgato has today announced that it has updated its Facecam. The new version comes with some serious design and image quality improvements.

The new Facecam has a slimmed down body with an improved monitor mount allowing it to get closer to eye level out of the box. It also has a sliding shutter for privacy when not in use.

There’s a brand new image processor which is said to require less manual tuning out of the box to get much better video performance and it also comes with better low light performance.

The updated Facecam now has HDR and it’s available at the full 1080p/60FPS as well, so no image downgrades necessary.

On the software side, it now gets the same virtual tilt and pan functionality seen in the Facecam Pro. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also $50 USD (~$80 AUD) cheaper than the original model as well.
