Apple has today released iOS 18 for iPhone, iPadOS 18 for iPads, MacOS Sequoia for Macas, WatchOS11 for the Apple Watch and tvOS 18 for the Apple TV 4K.
Without doubt, the biggest one is iOS 18 which is compatible on iPhones starting with the XR all the way through to iPhone 16 (that will come pre-installed with the software).
A major selling point of iOS 18 is Apple Intelligence, which actually isn’t available in this update, but will come to iPhone 15 Pro and the entire iPhone 16 range next month with a new Siri experience as well as new features such as AI photo editing and more.
The biggest improvements that are available today come in the way of customisation with iOS 18 letting people customise the home screen by placing app icons anywhere for the first time, there’s also coloured options for apps as well and control center can also be customised in new ways.
The photos app has been totally re-designed with new collections such as recent days, people and pets and trips, and allows for much better organisation. There’s also improvements to the messages app which bring in formatting options, the ability to send messages later and more.
Another huge new feature is the Passwords app which allows you to store all of your passwords and verification codes securely across all of your devices.
For those into gaming, you can also get access to Game Mode which allows you to experience more consistent frame rates and allow you to connect AirPods and game controllers with a new low latency mode as well.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro range are set to launch this Friday with pre-orders being available now. You can pre-order on Amazon HERE.
