JB Hi-Fi Has Begun Selling Steam Decks In New Zealand

Are we close?!

We’ve been waiting for Steam Decks to come to the Oceanic region, and whilst the likes of Amazon, Kogan and Catch have all been selling the original LCD and OLED version, we’ve been waiting for them to be available in an actual retailer locally, and JB Hi-Fi is the first cab off the rank in New Zealand at least.

As reported by Kotaku, JB Hi-Fi has begun selling Steam Decks that are being sourced by a third-party distributor (so not Valve officially) both in stores and online.

At the time of writing, JB Hi-Fi New Zealand is selling the original LCD version in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB both in some of its city stores as well as online in the JB HI-Fi New Zealand website. It’s worth mentioning that they are absolutely not a great deal with them costing between $1,100 AUD for the 64GB version and $1,500 for the 512GB LCD version.

For reference, on Amazon right now, you can get the 512GB OLED version for $1,235 AUD and the 1TB OLED version for $1,305 AUD with the 64GB LCD version costing as little as $699 with shipping.

We’re doing some digging locally to see if JB HI-Fi will stock them in Australia as that would be a huge deal even if Valve isn’t supplying them.
