It’s been rumoured for a long while, but we now have more information on Threads, Meta’s new Twitter rival, thanks to an App store listing that also reveals that the launch is imminent.
This comes in the wake of Twitter going downhill over the last few days, first limiting the amount of tweets that readers can view, and just this morning making Tweet Deck exclusive for Twitter Blue members.
According to the App store listing, Threads is scheduled to launch in Australia on July 6th. You can find that app listing HERE.
Meta hasn’t publicly acknowledged the app yet, but the app description does give us a bit of info about the app:
“Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you’re interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favorite creators and others who love the same things — or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world.”
We’ll keep you posted on the launch of Threads, and hopefully we see it fill the gap that Twitter has left (or is close to leaving if it continues on the current trajectory).
