New Microsoft Surface Devices Have Been Revealed With Snapdragon Chips For Much Better Performance And Battery Life

Huge improvements!

Microsoft has today lifted the lid off two game-changing products that feature the new Snapdragon X chips as well as AI components to push the Windows computing space forward.

NEW SNAPDRAGON SURFACE LAPTOP

The first is the new Surface Laptop which comes with a Snapdragon X Elite or Plus chip replacing Intel’s Core Ultra chipset, which apparently makes it faster than the M3 MacBook Air (a huge claim) with a massive battery life of up to 22 hours. Microsoft have said that it is 80 percent faster than the previous generation Surface Laptop

It comes in two sizes, 13.8-inches and 15-inches with a 120hz touchscreen display and it starts at 16GB of ram with 256GB of SSD storage which is a great starting point for these laptops. It comes in four colours: black, platinum, dune and sapphire. These start at $1,999 AUD for the 13.8-inch and $2,399 AUD for the 15-inch model and you can pre-order them HERE.

NEW SNAPDRAGON SURFACE PRO

The other new product is the updated Surface Pro which is also powered by the new Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chipsets which makes for performance that is 90% faster than the last Surface Pro. It’ll have a 15 hour battery life and has a new optional OLED screen (but can also be configured with an LED screen).

There’s also a new Surface Pro Flex Keyboard that allows you to get to work, but obviously there’s a built-in kickstand on the actual Surface itself too.

The Surface Pro comes in blue, black, beiege and platinum as well and will start at $1,899 with 16GB of ram and a 256GB SSD with that LCD X Plus model or $2,699 AUD for the OLED model. You can order it HERE.

NEW COPILOT AI+ LAPTOPS

In addition to the two laptops above, Microsoft has announced a new Copilot Plus AI technology that will be available in these laptops and a huge range from Lenovo, Dell, Acer, ASUS and HP. As a blanket statement, these devices will all come with the Snapdragon X Elite and Plus processors and all have neural processing units which Microsoft says makes them up to 58% faster than the M3 MacBook Air. You can read more about that HERE.

NEW COPILOT PLUS GAME UPSCALING

Microsoft also confirmed that Copilot Plus laptops would be able to take advantage of Super Resolution upscaling through the below games at launch through the Xbox app:

7 Days to Die, BeamNG.drive, Borderlands 3, Control, Dark Souls III, Dying Light, The Forest, God of War, Resident Evil 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Skyrim SE, Sons of the Forest, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Unturned, Warframe, and The Witcher 3.
