PlayStation Remote Play Is Coming To Android TVs And Chromecast Devices Today

Big!

PlayStation just announced that the next PS5 update is dropping tonight, but alongside that announcement was another big announcement.

The PlayStation Remote Play app is coming to TVs running Android TV OS 12 and Chromecast devices:

This includes The Bravia XR A95L Model and the Chromecast with Google TV (4K)  that is available here for $88 with free shipping for use with any TV.

This will allow you to stream games from your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 to another TV in your house (presumably a bedroom or study), which is genuinely useful if you’re wanting to play a game in another room or bed.

THE FULL UPDATE FROM THE PLAYSTATION BLOG IS BELOW:

  • PS Remote Play allows you to stream games from your PS5 or PS4 console to another device – including smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), PCs and Mac – over the internet or through your home network. This provides you with more options to enjoy your favorite games even when you’re away from the living room.*
  • Starting today, the PS Remote Play app will be available on devices running Android TV OS 12.**
  • Here are the verified devices so far:
    • Chromecast with Google TV (4K model)
