A month after it launched in the US, PlayStation has now revealed the Australian release date for the new PS5 Slim model, as well as the standalone Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc Drive and the new Chrome Vertical Stand (that is also compatible with the original PS5).

The PlayStation Slim will release in Australia on December 6th. It’s available to pre-order at the below links:

ABOUT THE NEW PS5 SLIM MODEL
The new model has had its volume reduced by more than 30% and weight by 18% and 24% respectively compared to the previous models. The faceplates will be broken up into four sections with the top portions sporting a glossy look and the bottom section remaining matte.
The new PS5 will be available to purchase in the same digital and disc offerings, but the one big change with this model is that if you buy the digital edition, you can now attach a disc drive later which can be purchased separately
Sony says that new PS5 console covers will release in early 2024 including an all-matte black colour as well as Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver variations.
