Samsung has today announced the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+ and Samsung 24 Ultra. Each of the devices come with Galaxy AI as well as new designs including flatter displays which means goodbye curve.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch flatter display, the S24+ has a 6.7-inch display with QHD+ resolution and the S24 has a 6.2-inch display. There’s slimmer and even bezels on all devices with hte S24 Ultra being the first ever Galaxy to feature a Titanium frame, which allows for a thinner body in the S24 Ultra.
Galaxy AI introduces new functionality such as Live Translate which provides two-way, real-time voice and text translations live during phone calls.
Chat Assist will help suggest responses in real time whilst transcript assist will use AI and text-to-speed to help summarise meetings and can even translate them into certain languages.
Google and Samsung has partnered on a new Circle to Search feature which lets S24 users tap or circle anything to instantly search it in Google.
As far as cameras go, the S24 series uses a new ProVisual Engine which uses AI to improve photo and video capabilities. The S24 Ultra features a Quad Tele System with a new 5x optical zoom and 100x enhanced digital zoom. Nightography has also seen an improvement with a 60% bigger sensor in the S24 Ultra.
Similar to the Pixel, Galaxy AI also comes into the photo editing space with Edit Suggestion using AI to make tweaks to photos and Generative Edit allowing you to use AI to fill in parts of an image.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform powering the 1-120hz refresh rate in all S24 devices, but the S24 Ultra is the one to get for gamers with a 1.9x larger vapour chamber which allows for ray-traced reflections, and the display now reaches 2,600 nits of peak brightness.
