Samsung announced its 2023 suite of Galaxy Books and it includes three products including the Galaxy Book3 Pro, Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, but the one that caught my eye was the Galaxy Book3 Ultra.
Basically, this packs incredibly powerful specs into a device that looks just as good as a MacBook Pro/Air, with hopefully the performance and battery life to go along with it.
It’s got a 16″ 3K (2880×1800) display with a 120Hz refresh rate and it’s 16.5mm thick whilst weighing 1.79kg. As far as connectivity goes, it has 2 x thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 x HDMI port, a MicroSD port, 1 x USB 3.1 type a port and a headphone jack.
What’s most impressive though is that whilst it looks as good as a MacBook Pro, it’s one for the gamers with it housing either a NVIDIA RTX 4070 or 4050 GPU which is more than enough to play the latest AAA games.
What will be interesting to see though is battery life, as that is one area where Apple is blowing the competition away at the moment and with this laptop having a 4070/4050, it’s going to probably eat away at that battery quite quickly.
The laptop launches later in February in the US for $2,400 USD (~$3,391 AUD) but Samsung doesn’t release its Galaxy Book products here, which hopefully will change as I genuinely believe this is a bit of a game-changer in the laptop space.
The rest of the lineup contains the Galaxy Book3 Pro which is also an incredibly stylish laptop, that I’d probably compare to the MacBook Air in terms of performance and also the Book3 Pro 360 which has a similar design, but also flips around with a touch screen, so for those that are looking for a laptop that also converts to a tablet.
If we do get information about the release of all three of these products, we’ll let you know as hopefully that will be the case.
