The PlayStation Portal is just days away from launching in the US and a few other markets, before it comes to Australia early next year, and the first reviews have dropped from a number of other outlets and YouTubers.
The general sentiment of the reviews is that this is the best remote play device on the market due to the fact that it holds a really steady connection with the PS5, has a beautiful large and vibrant display and replicates the DualSense both in its design but also features such as the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback which extends the PS5 experience.

IGN gave the device an 8/10 and said said: “The PlayStation Portal is the most surprising device I’ve ever come away from loving after going in loaded with skepticism. It’s such a better experience than using your phone with a slap-on controller, and it works so much better than I was anticipating. ”
The Verge said: “My first impression is that this device is primarily for PlayStation diehards who want a simple, dedicated tool for streaming games around their homes.”

VGC gave the device a 4/5 and praised the device for being the most comfortable handheld on the market with a strong battery life and said: “Your mileage will vary, but if you find yourself with your gaming time interrupted because of a monopolised TV, then the PlayStation Portal could be the reason you burn through your back-log faster than you thought.”
SpawnPoint provided an in-depth look at the device looking at things such as input lag and a range of games showing how vibrant the screen is. He also looked at hot the device runs outside of your house on an external internet connection such as your hotspot. You can view that full video below:
