Apple has held a massive press conference earlier this morning announcing the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra and new AirPod Pro 2.
IPHONE 14 PRO AND PRO MAX
The new iPhone 14 and Pro Max both still come in 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch but have lost the notch and gone with a new pill shaped cut out which Apple is calling the Dynamic Island. They’re cleverly using the cut out along with software to display things such as calls coming in, your stop watch and other U.I elements so that it doesn’t feel like wasted space.
The phone now also has an always on display which can show the time, widgets and live activities as well as your wallpaper in a dimmed state. The display is also brighter with 2000 nits of peak brightness and the bezels of the screen are also smaller.
The 14 Pro is now powered by the new A16 chip for improved efficiency and performance and battery life has been improved significantly. Car crash detection and emergency satellite messaging are also included.
When it comes to the cameras, there’s still three of them but they’ve all been improved, with the main camera now has a 48MP lens which helps lowlight photography. There’s also now a 2x telephoto option and the front camera has also been improved.

The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will both be available on September 16th with pre-orders starting at 10:00 pm AEST on September 9th. They both come in Deep Purple, Gold, Silver and Space Black.

IPHONE 14 AND IPHONE 14 PLUS
Apple has done away with its smaller mini phone this year with the iPhone 14 having a 6.1 inch screen whilst the new iPhone 14 Plus has a 6.7 inch screen. Apple is sticking with its former notch design on this model.
Just like the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, the battery life on this model has been improved, but it’s still using last year’s A15 chip. When it comes to the cameras, It’s still a dual camera system, with the biggest advancement being a new 12 mega pixel camera which lets more light in. The front camera has also been improved. Car crash detection and emergency satellite messaging are also included.

The iPhone 14 will launch on September 16th with the 14 Plus launching on October 7th. Pre-orders for both are starting at 10:00 pm AEST on September 9th. They both come in Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight and Red.

APPLE AIRPOD PRO 2
Apple announced brand new AirPod Pro 2 with a new H2 chip. It now has a six hour battery life (33% increase) with 30 hours total listening time with the case (up from 24 hours). Noise cancelling is double as good, you can now control volume on the stem, and the case now has a lanyard loop as well as a speaker so that you can find them. When it comes to tips, there’s they now come in XS, S, M and L.
AIRPODS PRO 2 AUSTRALIAN PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
The Apple AirPods Pro 2 will launch on September 23rd. Pre-orders begin at 10:00pm on September 9th. They will cost $399 AUD.
APPLE WATCH ULTRA
Apple announced a brand new Pro Apple Watch that is called Apple Watch Ultra. It features a larger digital crown, a larger display that is twice as bright as the new Apple watch, a titanium case, a dedicated action button that you can program and a new 36 hour battery life (that will be 60 hours with upcoming software). It also has a built in wayfinder compass dial in case you get lost, cellular built in and an improved microphone and speaker experience.

The Apple Watch Ultra is available to pre-order now and will launch on September 23rd. The price starts at $1,299.
APPLE WATCH SERIES 8
The Apple Watch Series 8 features the same design as last year’s model as well as its always on display, but there’s now a body temperature sensor which Apple says is fundamental for tracking ovulation cycles. There’s also a new car crash detection feature, and an all day 18 hour battery life with a new low power mode taking that to 36 hours of battery life.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is available to pre-order now and will launch on September 16th. The 41mm model starts at $629 with the 45mm model starting at $679 for the aluminium/sport band variety.
APPLE WATCH SE 2
There’s a brand new Apple Watch SE which is the entry level Apple Watch. It features a nylon composite design which makes it light and it comes in 40mm and 44mm. It has the new crash detection feature from the other Apple Watches and high and low heart rate notification monitoring.
