It’s literally been the one thing I’ve wanted since the inception of the Microsoft Surface, but it appears that Apple might finally being in the early stages of creating a touch screen MacBook.
Following reports that suggest Apple will move to start creating its own OLED screens, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that we could be getting an OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro as early as 2025.
It sounds as though the project is in the early stages, but engineers “actively engaged”. Obviously, we’d have to believe that Apple has been in the design stages for touch screen Mac devices before, so these plans could change and the product never see the light of day, but it’s super exciting to hear that this might be a possibility in the years to come.
It’s said that the touch-screen MacBook Pro would largely have the same form factor as the current 14-inch and 16-inch iterations, but with a multi-point touch screen.
Obviously, Apple has tried several things with the MacBook Pro including the second-screen Touch Bar which has now been phased out, so no doubt, it recognises the desire for a touchable screen in Mac products.
