Sonos’ New Speakers Add TruePlay For Android And Line In/Bluetooth Support

Great features

Sonos announced its new Era speaker line today which includes the Sonos One succesor, the Sonos Era 100 and a brand new Dolby Atmos focused speaker, the Sonos Era 300.

Whislt both of these speakers sound great in their own right, what is more exciting is some of the features that they bring, and will no doubt come to other Sonos speakers as time goes on.

Both speakers add the ability to use line-in with a separately sold adaptor, that will allow you to connect the likes of your vinyl player. Both speakers also have Bluetooth connectivity, which you can switch to at any time.

Those on Android will also be able to get the Trueplay experience with both speakers able to auto calibrate without the need for a device. Those that have an iPhone or iPad will still be able to take advantage of Advanced Tuning (the original TruePlay method).

A big difference for both speakers is the user interface, which has been largely the same for a long period of time. Sonos has now included capacitive volume controls alongside dedicated play, forward and back buttons. There’s also a dedicated button to activate voice assistant and create a Sonos speaker group
