Razer has today announced the Razer Blade 16 and Razer Blade 18, and they definitely push the OG slimline gaming laptops in a better direction.
Both laptops have 16:10 screen, with the bezel significantly smaller than previous models. This apparently allows bigger batteries, which in a gaming laptop can only mean good things. Pairing this with the lower power consumption of the RTX 4000 range, this might result in a pretty good battery.
The Blade 16 has a very interesting dual screen MINI LED that can go between 4K and 1080p interchanging the resolution between 120Hz and 240Hz depending on whether you’re using it for creative purposes of gaming. The Mini LED is rated at up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness for HDR content.
The Blade 18 has a 1440p display with a 240Hz refresh rate, which I’m sure will be extremely impressive still.
The internals will feature Intel 13th Gen Core i9-13950HZ 65W CPUs as well as up-to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mobile GPU.
Outside of that, there’s not a huge amount of difference from previous iterations, but that’s a good thing. There’s one USB-C port, one thunderbolt 4 port, three USB-A ports, a HDMI 2.1 ports, a headphone jack and an SD card reader, with the larger Blade 18 coming with a ethernet port as well.
The Razer Blade 16 will start at $2,699 USD (roughly $4,000 AUD) whilst the Blade 18 will start at $2,899 USD (roughly $4,300).
