PlayStation has announced two new headsets in what will form its new headset lineup for PS5. It includes the PlayStation Pulse Wireless Headset and PlayStation Pulse Edge Wireless Headset with the former being an entry level headset seemingly replacing the original Pulse headset, and the latter replacing the Pulse Elite.
Both headsets have planar magnetic drivers in addition to a USB-C PlayStation Link as well as brand new more streamline designs when compared to PlayStation’s previous over ear headphones with both headsets having a built-in microphone with AI noise rejection. Both will be available in black and white.
The big story here is the PlayStation Pulse Edge Wireless Headset which has double the amount of magnets per planar driver for increased bass, that same USB-C adaptor, a hidden/detachable boom mic with AI noise rejection, built-in game/chat audio balance controls, active noise cancelling, a carrying case as well as an audio/microphone jack and adaptor.
Prices and release dates haven’t been confirmed for either headset yet, but the standard Pulse headset will release later this year with the Pulse Elite headset releasing in early 2027.
